Assessment results are used to improve student learning and the educational experience at Old Dominion University and do not become part of students' records.

Senior Assessment

Check out the timetable below for when you should receive the invitation to complete your Senior Assessment.

Graduation Term: Receive Invitation By:
May (Spring) end of February
August (Summer)** end of June
December (Fall) end of September

Please Note

August (summer) graduates who are participating in the May commencement ceremony do not need to complete the assessment before commencement and will receive a survey invitation by the end of June.

All graduating Seniors must complete the Senior Assessment.

Completing the Senior Assessment (which also includes the Senior Student Satisfaction Survey) is a University requirement for graduation and must be completed during the Senior's last semester. After requesting a survey invitation, an email with the subject line Invitation to Complete the Senior Assessment - Graduation Requirement and the link to take the assessment will be sent to the student's official ODU email address.

Failure to complete the survey before the respective commencement ceremony will not impact the student's ability to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

  • We recommend closing your browser for security purposes after completing the Senior Assessment. A confirmation email will be sent to each student's ODU email address within 5 - 7 business days. The student's academic records on Leo Online will also be updated within 5 - 7 business days after completing the assessment.

  • Graduating students applying for graduation after the deadline established by the Registrar's Office must complete the Assessment Request Form.

  • Students who have not received an e-mail invitation to complete the Senior Assessment by the dates listed above must complete the Assessment Request Form.
